Lojong -The Mind Training App app for iPhone and iPad
The Lojong Mind Training App is based on the famous Buddhist text Mind Training in Seven Points (Lojong dön dün ma) by the Tibetan master Chékawa Yeshé Dorje and its commentary by Khenchen Appey Rinpoche (1927-2010). It was designed to facilitate the integration of the various levels mind training taught in this text, through meditation and in particular in our daily lives.
This application has five functions, all of which are also customizable:
1) Start my Day: a morning alarm, including a mind training reminder.
2) Meditation Time: a timer for formal meditation, including instructions on various topics.
3) Daily Mind Training: mind training reminders that will pop-up during the day at preset times, with commentary and linked to an interactive journal. This journal has three entry fields:
(+): to note the last time one remembers having acted in accordance with the mind training reminder.
(-): to note the last time one remembers having acted against the reminder.
(to do): to note an activity or practice one will do for purification.
4) Review my Day: end of day notes, linked to the interactive journal.
5) View Mind Training Journal.
A note on data privacy: All notes taken in this journal stay on your phone only and are not collected, stored or shared by this app. Please be aware, however, that data stored on a smartphone connected to the internet, including the notes taken in this journal, can potentially be accessed by other parties.
The Lojong Mind Training App was created by Christian Bernert from the Chödung Karmo Translation Group (www.chodungkarmo.org) with the support of the Khenchen Appey Foundation. We sincerely thank everyone involved in this project.
